The City of Russell has been operating the Russell City Cemetery since 1974. The Cemetery Sexton and Parks Department maintain and oversee the Russell City Cemetery.
Purchase:
Burial spaces may be purchased at the City Clerk's office for $125.00 per space. There is a filing fee included with this to the Register of Deeds.
Burials:
Casket burials are performed by a Mortuary, with grave openings and closings performed by a private contractor. Urn grave openings and closings are performed by the City of Russell. All burials require a permit for interment through the City Clerk's office at a cost of $25. There are additional fees for Cremation and After Hours/Saturday Labor. Cremation is $80, while After Hours/Saturday Labor is $20. All funeral arrangements are organized through a mortuary of choice. View the Cemetery Map (PDF) and the Cemetery Records (PDF).
