Building Community Pride
The My City Program allows citizens, groups, churches, schools, and other organizations the opportunity to get involved and show community pride through volunteer opportunities working to beautify public spaces.
Organizations and individuals are encouraged to get involved and promote pride within our community through assisting our Parks Department in the upkeep and clean-up of our public spaces. Through this involvement, community members are working to maximize parks maintenance budgets and tax dollars to work on activities that are in need of care.
Where Can I Help?
Currently, there are several areas of the community that can be adopted by organizations through the My City Program. These include:
- Adopt-A-Park
- Memorial Park
- Bickerdyke Park
- Fossil Park
- Aimes Park
- Eagle Park
- Water Tower Park
- Bronco Park
- Fossil Lake
- Adopt-the-Walking Trail
- Adopt-A-Waterway
- Adopt-A-Street
What is Expected of Me?
Volunteer groups are asked to pick up trash and litter in the areas of which they adopt, ideally at least monthly. Supplies to accomplish this task will be provided by the City. Adoption of a specific area should be renewed annually. Specific program guidelines and safety recommendations are included on the My City application.
Where Can I Sign Up?
Fill out a My City application and submit to the City Clerk's office. The City Clerk will contact volunteers to determine scheduling. Supplies for this program are available for pickup at the City Clerk's office.
